"Intellect is dened as the faculty of reasoning and understanding objectively, especially with regard to abstract matters or a person's mental powers. An intellectual property is an intangible property that is the result of creativity” (as dened in Oxford dictionary). If an intellectual of a person creates any property which is original and has a tangible value it can be an intellectual property. They should be protected under different statutory norms depending on their types and characteristics to become rights. The course has been designed to provide conceptual clarity, business applications, valuations and different methods to leverage on IPRs. These rights provide impetus for innovation and waves inroads for business growth. It encapsulates signicant international agreements, treaties and protocols which bind nations during international trade and commerce. The pedagogy will be a right blend of input of statutory, compliances both national and international, and various IPR applications in diverse industries. It shall include faculty lectures, case studies, and analysis of case studies.
Dr. Rashmi Aggarwal, faculty of law has been associated with IMT Ghaziabad since 2007. She currently serves on the Boards of Zee Media Corporation Ltd, Dish TV India Ltd, Spice Mobility Ltd, Essel Mutual Funds Ltd, Today Merchandise Pvt Ltd, Dish Infra Pvt Limited and had served the board of Essel Forex Ltd. She has been a visiting professor at various IIM’s and reputed institutes abroad like Toulouse Business School, France and S.P Jain Dubai. Her research interests are in the area of corporate laws, corporate governance, and intellectual property rights.
Dr. Rajinder Kaur joined as the Director at the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, for a term of three years. Rajinder did her PhD on “A socio-legal study of the problem of violation of rights of the child in India” from the PU and Post Graduate Diploma in Media Laws from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad. She has seven books and fty-ve research articles to her credit.
